A couple of NC items of interest

Seems the interim DA in Durham, NC (pre-Mike Nifong) is requesting an investigation of various governmental entities involved in the Duke lacrosse case. What is even more interesting is, the falsely accused lacrosse players' attorneys are threatening a civil suit against city officials of Durham. Evidently, there is talk of an out-of-court settlement. I don't blame them. I always said that if it had been a son of mine involved in this whole fiasco, I'd have sued both Duke University and the DA's office. Duke settled before they could even be served with a suit. I knew this issue had not been completely solved. There could be more heads rolling before this is over. Too bad Jim Hardin wasn't the sitting DA when this suit originally was presented. I can assure you, this would never have become the circus it has. Jim is highly thought of and left the DA's position to take a Judgeship. I knew him in high school, and nobody had a bad word to say about him, as straight-up as they come.

On a lighter note, you have to be a college basketball fan for this one. Roy Williams will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame this Friday night. There will be many well-known attendess, including 23 former UNC players. Of course, the Dean will be there. He was one of five of the first to be inducted into this entity last year. It gives me goose bumps to think about it, as it's another indication of how great a basketball dynasty UNC is. I'm so proud of Roy Williams. He's one of four coaches to ever achieve a ratio of over 80% in wins. He's in the good company of Clair Bee, Adolph Rupp, and John Wooden, all legends in the basketball mecca. I know football is here for awhile, but I can hardly wait for the basketball season to start!
