Free Speech

I'll keep this brief, as I'm listening to the testimony of Mike Nifong live. Today could be his total undoing (at least many of us hope that's the case).

As if Harry Reid hasn't bashed Bush enough, he's now taking out his rants on General Peter Pace. He also is all over Petraeus (spelling?). Pace's firing is NOT about his being inadequate as a General, but about his anti-gays in the military remarks. Unfortunately folks, we're seeing the decline of free speech by the very ones (liberals) that use it as an excuse to do whatever they want all the time. Nobody is immune to it, even the Hollywood types. Isahiah Washington (from Grey's Anatomy), Don Imus (from radio), and General Pace, from the military.

Now, there is pending legislation to make it a crime to speak of anything that may offend the gay community. Even the teachings of the Christian church are under fire. Isn't it typically the liberals that dwell on the separation of church and state? Well, why should the government make any laws regarding something as private as the ideals of a particular religion? You can't have it both ways, just as Socialism and Capitalism cannot co-exist. If we aren't careful, the "speech patrol" will be out to get us.
