Good Points!

I guess we can be purple again today, or maybe violet, to say the least. I agree with Blue Lady regarding Ann Coulter. I have agreed with her points of view, but in the last 1-2 years, she, indeed, has become "sophomoric". I've never cared for her manner either. When asked direct questions, she reminds me of a lot of the liberals I complain about, by skirting around the questions and not answering them directly. She's extremely "flip" and too arrogant for my tastes.

I definitely do not like Bill Maher because Bill Maher does not like nor appreciate his country. We all know the reason his show, Politically Correct, was jerked off the air. Other than the fact he's a pompous ass, when he pretty much stated we deserved to get hit on 9/11, that was the end, period. I'm tired of the quasi-comedians getting off with an excuse. They, as others in the entertainment industry, use their popularity to express their views. Believe me, when he said what he did about Cheney, he wasn't joking and said exactly what he felt. I saw him recently on Jay Leno, and he wasn't performing in a comedic routine, but carrying on a general conversation with Jay. He expressed his disdain for anything on the "right" side of the fence in a very deliberate manner. Unfortunately, younger people today do use these idiots as their sources in obtaining the news. There was a poll conducted recently, showing a large percentage of people under the age of 30 really believing that what Jon Stewart spews out of his mouth is real news. They don't have the ability to decipher what is real and what is "comic relief". Then again, it doesn't surprise me, which brings me to a topic that ties into this one.

One of the articles in Townhall.com today chronicled more than disturbing statistics. Whatever you may or may not think of Pat Buchanan, this is an article that should not be overlooked; Dumbing Down of America. This is not new to me, as I've read a bit about the public school system, but for anyone that's not aware, it's a good place to start. BTW, it has no religious overtones for anyone that recoils at the thought of a religious belief.

Did anyone see the "Hill" display her talents as a Thespian this weekend? Not only was she an embarrassment to the South, but to herself, as well. Even the Dems felt sorry for her. I had to laugh as she tried to speak with a Southern accent. Trying to convince everyone that you're "just one of them" doesn't work for the enlightened. She really thinks we're all ignorant, since she's the "self-proclaimed" smartest woman in the country (or was that world). Her voice is enough to try and withstand for any length of time, but this was over the top. That nasal sound from the Midwest was only emphasized, and it was the most grating sound I've heard in a long while. Even accomplished actors can't get it right. The best attempt I've heard is the movie, "Gone With The Wind". David O. Selznick got it right!
