A plethora of good information today!
While yesterday's blog included a 50th anniversary celebration of "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, I felt these two articles are quite appropriate in addressing the topic of "Communism". These are a bit lengthy and should be read when there are a few minutes to spare. AADDs need not attempt fate.
Inordinate Fear? - Randall Hoven
Jihad and the American Left - J.R. Dunn
As much as I complain about the mentality and rudeness of young people today, I never cease to be enlightened. This was sent to Neal Boortz.
A GREAT EMAIL ... FOR A CHANGE
I am a seventeen year old female attending a government school here in Atlanta, and am ashamed to say that I have been politically apathetic my whole life (unlike my mother who is a diehard FairTax fanatic). I have never cared for, liked, nor understood politics (and I blame my government school for failing to teach me) until recently when my mom handed me a copy of Somebody's Gotta Say It. I read the book in one day, laughed out loud at your wit, and cursed out loud about the injustice occurring in our country today. Since I finished that book a few weeks ago I have been unable to stop reading other books that focus on the individual and not the government. I have personally made it my mission to inform high school students about the lies that they are being fed, and have already begun to write columns for my school newspaper. I just want to thank you for giving me the individual voice I need to stand out amongst classrooms filled with Liberals. Thank you for always speaking the truth, and for defending the American people.
What a turn-around from the previous regime!
French President Nicolas Sarkozy addressed the US Congress yesterday saying, "We love America."
This does not surprise me.
Just in case you were not aware, "All modern discoveries are by Muslim scientists." At least that is according to a Columbia University professor. Gotta love academia.
For anyone that brings up Margaret Thatcher's name as a female leader in the same sentence as Hillary Clinton's, read it and weep.
Ken Blackwell: Hillary Is No Maggie
Margaret Thatcher and Hillary Clinton share very little in common with each other. They are two very different women.
I'm not a Pat Robertson fan, but this endorsement is important in that it shows a candidate with different views on issues can still be considered a good candidate by the extreme right. It's the first open sign I've seen where the religious right is finally thinking logically vs. emotionally. It's time they looked at the big picture. Now, if only the libs can learn to do the same thing.
Hugh Hewitt: The Robertson Effect?
When Rudy Giuliani captured the endorsement of Christian Coalition founder and 700 Club Wednesdays, many heads turned. Why did it happen? What does it mean?
Contrary to someone's beliefs (because they can't/don't comprehend what they read), I'm not a Coulter fan. Nevertheless, I do like her articles, and this is a good history lesson for the one-liners out there about Joe McCarthy. I'd take bets on those that trash him won't read the book, though.
Ann Coulter: McCarthyism: The Rosetta Stone of Liberal Lies
The great M. Stanton Evans has finally released Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies. Based on a lifetime's work, including nearly a decade of thoroughgoing research, stores of original research and never-before-seen government files, this 672-page book ends the argument on Joe McCarthy.
Marvin Olasky: Lenin's Revolution Vs. Luther's Reformation
Yesterday (Nov. 7): the 90th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin's Communist Revolution. Last week (Oct. 31): the 490th anniversary of the beginning of Martin Luther's Protestant Reformation.
Ironic the author attended Duke. For anyone that has bothered to read "Until Proven Innocent", about the case of the Duke lacrosse players, you know how rampant the radical left is in twisting ideas to satisfy their rhetoric. The documentary mentioned, "IndoctrinateU", hasn't hit Atlanta yet, although it's being shown in other major cities.
John Zmirak: Even the Left Admits that Classroom Politics are a Problem
The New York Times recently ran an Op-Ed warning that the pervasive and invasive leftist politics of many professors pose a threat to the quality, integrity, and academic independence of colleges across the country.
I've seen government housing projects. Since these people haven't "earned" them, they go into disarray in a skinny instance. What is their motivation to take care of what they're "given"? It doesn't matter as long as your taxes continue to subsidize them.
Paul Weyrich: Federal Government Housing For Americans - A Communist Precedent
Historically, Americans have been averse to reliance upon governmental munificence, preferring instead to keep their hard-earned money and buy or build a house or apartment that suited their lifestyle and their needs.
Another good history lesson for those that spew the "imperialistic" word to describe our country. The question is, with all this information being spoon-fed, will those that need the lessons the most actually take the time to read them? I doubt it.
Michael Medved: Responding to lies about America's "isolationist" past and "imperialist" present
Those who claim that the United States has become a rapacious, arrogant, destructive, domineering and imperialistic power must somehow explain the continued independent existence of the nation of Canada
