Government Schools
Let's start with the elementary school in the Boston area that canceled an outing for kids to see "Miracle on 34th Street". Now, you're probably wondering what could possibly be wrong with that movie? Some parents seem to believe that Santa is "offensive". Frankly, I'm getting quite tired of that word used as an excuse for some to dictate what others can and cannot do. When the principal was asked what was offensive about Santa, there was no reply. I suppose you don't need justification as to what is offensive. Just the mere fact that it's offensive suffices. What nut jobs in this country! Maybe the fact that Santa is a white male, eats transfats, and smokes a pipe?
Finally, the high school Valedictorian in Boulder (another bastian of far left radicalism) that was refused her diploma a couple of years ago for mentioning Jesus in her graduation speech, has filed a lawsuit. Now, I'm not one for frivilous suits, but I agree with her on this one. Her diploma was withheld until she wrote a letter of apology regarding her use of the word, Jesus. The principal called it a "breach of decorum" and the fact that she held a captive audience. WTF, how does a breach of decorum break any laws? What happened to freedom of speech the libs live and die by? Well, I suppose freedom of speech is just fine unless it eludes to anything that has to do with Christianity. That's the double-standard in this one!
Speaking of Valedictorians, some schools are proposing to do away with them. Encourages competition, God forbid. We can't have that, nor achievers, if we have to be clones of each other. Again, this "diversity" crap, while everyone should be the same, is the biggest contradiction the libs can spew. Sorry, but not everyone is born with the same abilities. We used to celebrate "diversity", but the libs have transformed that term to a whole new meaning, and it's not a good one.
I see where my school, UNC, has banned smoking everywhere on campus. I'm not a smoker and don't like it, but isn't it still legal? How can a university ban something that isn't breaking the law? Just because I don't like it doesn't mean that people don't have a right to do it. I can see buildings prohibiting the practice in buildings, but outside shouldn't even be an issue. Seems government control is selective, depending on what side of the fence you're on.
