Back from Florida

Got back from the Seabreeze Jazz Festival at Seagrove Beach. Shaky weather, but we managed it. Great, great music that had the place packed the whole weekend. Nice to get away for awhile.

Back to reality was quite gloomy as we heard the news of the VA Tech shootings. Horrible! Predictable though, was the outcry from foreign countries about our lack of gun control (or citizens exercising their constitutional rights). Well, darned if it wasn't a foreigner that's the perp. Imagine that! After all, the guns just get right up by themselves and start shooting, right? I really enjoyed the Chinese comments. The last time I looked, they are Communists right? That's what happens when you remove citizens from their weapons. I love the socialists views on this one. Statistics (not opinions) show that crime has increased in countries that took away citizens' rights to own weapons. That is a fact, ladies and gentlemen.

After attempts at deciphering Blue lady's comments on the Duke case, I give up. This "two wrongs make a right" doesn't cut it. That's the only message I can sincerely ascertain. Again, I guess I failed to convey the previous message I was trying to send. I have a habit of doing this. I just don't get the idea that these guys had it coming to them (the insinuation that they were partying, thus the declaration that they had to have been up to no good) other than they were well-to-do white guys. I come to this conclusion because of several comments chastising white people (especially men) on various topics. Seems there is a prejudice of another type being conveyed in the recent past. Well, at least the diatribe included Clinton this time instead of Bush. Straying from the topic at hand vs. addressing it, tends to lose me.
