It's All CRAP
This is the point I'm trying to make in my postings: You can't belive anything you read or hear. My dear Red Lady, the point you make about Michael Moore being opinionated and attempting to pass off his ideas as truth can be said of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Newt Gringrich, Bill Clinton, Bill Maher, Ann Coulter, even your beloved George W. Bush. They all will take a point, spin it in such a way as to support their theories and then present it as truth. And you speak of hipocrasy, how about Limbaugh and his drug addiction, Newt and his womanizing? At least Bill Clinton didn't campaign on a 'Family Values' platform.
What is your definition of 'lying'? Michael Moore may present his opinions as 'fact', but that's not a lie in my concept of the word. Lying is what Bush did about WMD's in Iraq. Lying is what all politicians do to get their point across, they just call it 'misspeaking' or can't remember.
In the few short weeks we've had this blog, I've read a lot of the articles that you talk about and I've come to one conclusion: The Right thinks the glass is half empty. They always seem to attempt to find fault with some one or some concept. To them, the US is going to Hell in a Handbasket. We need to be armed to the teeth, looking over our shoulders at all times, suspicious of anyone who doesn't think like we do, except, of course, if it makes money. It's all about making money, and if you can't or don't make money and aren't rich, then you should be left to your own devices, who cares? We need to look at the positive things about living in the US, or Get Out.
And speaking of Bush, what has he done since he's been in office? He's gotten us involved in an unnecessary, under planned war, driven the National Debt sky high, allowed faith-based charities to be on the government dole, supported government intrusion into all of our lives, sometimes in the name of National Security, and appointed unqualified persons to positions of leadership. I'm honestly trying to think of one good thing he's done, but nothing comes to mind. And in all fairness, it isn't just him, I believe Dick Cheney is more in control than we know. OK, so you say we had to go to war because of 9/11, and with that I agree. We had to kick Taliban Butt for what they did to us, but did we? Did we find Bin Laden? What is our course of action in Afganistan? No, we jumped the gun and invaded Iraq. Granted, Saddam had to be taken out of the picture, but let's finish something first. And now, we can't get out. Bush wants to stay the course, but what is the course? What is our plan? You can't accomplish anything unless you have measurable goals, and as most managers know, you have to have a time frame to measure and achieve these goals.
While we're on the Patriotic Thing, what about the state of VA Hospitals? This may not be Bush's fault directly, but it's happening On His Watch. Why wasn't he/they more concerned about what happens to our troops they get wounded and need help? Why aren't the fighting troops given the equipment and safety gear they need? Why aren't Americans doing more to help the effort? I remember reading about selling War Bonds during WWII, food rationing, that kind of stuff. How has this war affected your day-to-day life, except to raise oil prices?
Yes, Clinton lied about his personal life while under oath. If Newt had been asked the same question, he would have lied under oath, too. And how did Bill Clinton getting it on with an Intern effect your life? How did that effect the GNP or the Business Cycle or National Security?
Neither side is correct, they are both just Liars and Cheats, living off the public's trust. We need to start voting Libertarian, to get both of these sides back to reality. When they realize there's a threat to their jobs, maybe they will start doing what they're supposed to!
