Blue Lady's Blues
I agree with your problems with services. Banks don't and haven't cared for individuals for many years. Your banking conglomerates are only concerned about corporate accounts, although, they have no problem offering illegals credit cards. Bank of America is the main culprit here. They actually explain how easy they make it for them to send money back to Mexico, which is exactly what Mexico wants. They're encouraging that practice, while we're losing out on that money being reinvested in our economy. Seems it doesn't matter that illegals are costing us (the taxpayers) in services they should not be receiving. I'm aware there is a ton of money to be made off the illegals, but where does profit over ethics stop? Something can be done though. If people started taking their money out of these banks and supporting smaller/local banks, they'd be much better off. I know, they're not as convenient, but a little planning ahead (like 20 years ago), would go a long way. Larger banks would be forced to accommodate individuals again. What people don't realize, as much as we complain about services/customer service, we are just as guilty of perpetuating it by supporting it.
Insurance companies are just as bad, if not worse. I won't even get started there.
As for the marriage/divorce rate, books could be, and are, written on this one! The changing of the dynamics of society are at fault for a large part of this instability. I hate to say it, but it is a direct result of the womens' movement from the '60s. There is a give and take in any situation, and for all the "independent" strides women have made, seems they aren't capable of making long-term choices. You just can't have it all and do it well, as some surmise. We are seeing the repercussions, and it's not pretty.
