Seems the black Dems voted down (only by 10) the attempt at ridding us of the car tag tax. Enough said.

This one isn't quite local but sad, nevertheless. The President of the student body at UNC was shot and killed very close to campus early Wednesday morning. She's from Athens and was attending UNC on a Morehead Scholarship. Evidently, she was quite involved in several activities and was a pre-med student. This hits close to home, since UNC is my alma mater. Another meaningless tragedy.
