Happy New Year

Another year has come and gone, and we're still saddled with the same problems. Let's hope a new leader will stand strong against illegal immigration and radical Islam. If we don't take care of those two issues, we won't have to worry about anything else.

Here's a good one from Neal today:

Protestors in Atlanta. The local charity hospital is being turned over to a private non-profit organization to run. The deadbeats and freeloaders are protesting the move citing their fears of a "loss of services." So .. what services are they going to lose? Will they still be treated -- for free -- if they show up with a medical emergency? Of course they will. Are they going to be able to continue using Grady Hospital as the center of their social life? Possibly not. Let me tell you how bad things are with this hospital. Let's say you live about four or five miles from downtown and you want to go do a little shopping. You'll pay for a cab back home, but a free ride to town would be nice. So .. you call Grady and say the magic words: "I'm having trouble breathing." Here comes the Grady ambulance .. your free ride downtown. You lose yourself in the chaos of the emergency room -- where most of the patients have no medical emergency at all -- and go do your shopping. Nice scam. Your taxpayer's dollars at worst. Trust me ... Grady will continue to operate as a so-called "safety net" hospital where people go with the slightest scratch or sniffle .. people who will call their friends on their cell phones to bitch about having to pay a few bucks for treatment or a prescription.

A note about this Christmas season that is now past. I am disgusted, totally disgusted as to all the ads for Christmas that deliberately eliminated the word, "Christmas" in their advertising to those that spend money on Christmas gifts. I've made notes, and trust me, will NOT shop at those stores next year (and basically throughout the remainder of the year). They wonder why retail sales are down for the season, well it's not just the economy, stupid!
