Darling Red Lady made some interesting comments, which I want to address at a later date, but this is one I'd like to jump on now. The Georgia Senate Health and Human Sciences committee passed a vote in favor of Bill 66 that would require any woman seeking an abortion to undergo an ultra-sound. She doesn't need to look at it, just do it. The bill was sponsered by Nancy Schaefer (R-Turnerville) and debate on the topic was shut down by the comittee chairman, Don Thomas (R-Dalton). I really have issues with the government legislating medical procedures, unnecessary medical procedures at that. Last time I looked, abortion was a legal procedure in the United States and women could choose to under go an abortion at their own cost. Who will pay for this extra cost? Probably passed on to the consumer, which makes abortion available only to the rich, who can also afford birth-control (at least at this point in time) and don't really need abortions.
What happened to less government, Republicans. I will rant more later, but I have to go to work now. Tune in!
