I have been attending a book club for the last few weeks, discussing Ayn Rand's, "Atlas Shrugged". It's a dynamic book, and supposedly the second most read book next to the bible. Those that follow Rand's philosophy closely are mostly atheists. I tend to confound them because I agree with most of her philosophy while being a Christian. You see, Rand promotes "individual" thinking vs. "collectivism" (the masses or group-think). When it comes to religion though, these followers of Rand don't quite understand how individual thinking can comprehend her philosophy. Needless to say, we have some interesting conversations. The DA in NC is going for the death penalty for Atwater, one of the thugs that shot Eve Carson to death. Lethal injection is too good for this piece of trash. I say hang 'em high, and not the Clint Eastwood style.

How stupid is the public becoming? Atlanta's airport already had signs to warn people of certain types of shoes getting stuck in escalators. Seems there have been many accidents over the last year, as people don't know how to enter and exit the things, nor do mothers watch their childrens' step. Therefore, for the benefit of all (even those of us that know better), we have more signs. These are the same people that walk and text at the same time. If they can't pay attention to what they're doing, then do you honestly think they're going to read the signs?

We already know why they want this – Islam won't allow women to appear in bathing suits in front of men who aren't members of their immediate family.

I love this paper. It's the only newspaper I actually spend the time to peruse.

I see where Homeland Security is initiating a program to assist illegals (those that aren't criminals) in leaving the country. Supposedly, there are those that do want to go, but need help in getting their affairs together. It's a great idea if they're really willing to go. I think they've found that with the recent crack-downs and raids in work facilities, it would be a good idea to get the hell out of Dodge before they suffer harsh consequences. Of course, there are the liberal groups that want them to stay even if they would be better off leaving. I'm sure labor unions are in a tizzy over it, as membership has declined so much, they're after illegals to make up the disparity. If labor could induct Martians into the fold, they would do it! Their time has been over for years, and now they're starting to realize it.

As I've previously mentioned, I'm disappointed in Bush for signing the appropriations to assist irresponsible homeowners to get out of their quandries with our tax money. The far left, activist group, ACORN, is thrilled though. They are the largest group that pushes for home ownership for the poor. For the money they obtain, it's also used to solicit non-voters to register, as they're usually on the Dem side of the fence. They've made great strides in getting the poor, along with the ignorant, to register. It's going to get interesting come voting time. First of all, a large number of these people won't go to the polls even if they've registered. Then you'll have the crowd that didn't register properly, end up at the incorrect precinct, etc. There are going to be lots of issues, and you thought there were problems in Florida the last time around. Actually, there weren't. They were just fabricated by Gore and company because they didn't win what they thought was theirs for the taking. I mean, how many recounts does it take to convince a buffoon that they've lost the damn election?

The Gates Foundation is implementing a plan to help the poor in other countries save money. Savings programs in poverty-stricken countries is an interesting idea. See what happens when the government leaves entrepreneurs alone. Even after all the bogus anti-trust crap Bill Gates has been through here and abroad, he and his wife are trying to use their billions to assist others in need. If it weren't for innovative people like him, we wouldn't be as far ahead as we are in this country. While the libs are doing everything they can to squelch the competitive spirit this country was built on, it's good to know there are still those that are willing to give for the common good. People like Obama, on the other hand, would rather play the Marxist role and take it away from the producers to create programs run by the government. We all know how well gub'ment programs run, now don't we?

Here's one that really burns me, and it actually leans to the left. There is a new draft regulation that would have birth control pills and IUDs labeled as abortion measures. Can you believe it? We already have situations where doctors that don't believe in abortion not have to perform them. That's all well and good, but it would allow pharmacists to retaliate and not fill prescriptions for these devices, as well as the "morning after" pill due to their beliefs. If you're going to work for a company, you do what they say or don't work for them. You have that choice, but to try and dictate what women can buy because of your beliefs is completely wrong. The even larger contradiction here is that I don't hear any resistance to selling Viagra. Doesn't Viagra cause pregnancies? If you want to get petty, I can too. Now, who says I can't think for myself where individual issues are concerned?

Speaking of insurance and healthcare, just remember, if Obama becomes President and has his way with a Federal healthcare program, the Congress will run it. With a 12% approval rating, would you feel comfortable with those idiots handling your healthcare?

One final note on another topic altogether. Just read on the site, Moronsinchapelhill.com, where there is a Federal investigation being done on the Eve Carson murder case. The good news about this is, one of the repeat-offender thugs from Durham, could possibly get the death penalty. Since the state of NC is too liberal to put anyone to death, I guess the Feds decided it was time to go for some true justice. I'd love to see him fried. I'd also love to see the other one, too young at the time of the murder to get the death penalty, become someone's jail bitch for years. Nothing less would be appropriate for the hateful, murdering little ass.

I see where the House has voted to regulate tobacco - do they really believe they will stop people from smoking? It will cost tobacco companies more money to implement what the government wants them to do. BTW, this business of advertising to young people is B.S. I grew up in a time when everyone smoked. My father worked for a tobacco company. Advertising was everywhere. Guess what, I've never smoked. My parents taught us of the bad elements of smoking and threatened us within an inch of our lives if they caught us smoking while we were underage. None of the three of us smoked, so why should the government, once again, interfere with the free market and parenting? It's up to the parents to handle this situation, period.

I see Obama and Ludacris are buddies. Seems Obama thinks he's a great talent. Guess he likes the thug's latest lyrics regarding Clinton, Jackson, and Bush. Only now does Obama denounce him, sounds like remnants of denouncing his preacher - only after the public is made aware of the connections. What a farce Obama is.

I see where Brian Nichols wants the media banned from the courtroom. He's concerned about obtaining a fair jury. Well, hell, how many witnesses saw him murder people in the courtroom? Everyone knows I'm a Bush supporter, but I'm disgusted that he's signed the bill to allow 400,000 off the hook regarding their mortgages. There is such a domino effect here. Our tax money will go toward this, as if we need to have taxes raised right now. The government allowed people to bully the banks to make loans to those that couldn't afford a house in the first place, so here we are. Individuals, along with small businesses, will have a more difficult time getting loans. That will cause companies to cut costs, along with jobs. The economy gets worse for it. There's not a "right" to own a home, it's something that is "earned", but what a concept. As long as the government gives in to those that scream "equality", we will continue to have these issues.

In the land of fruits and nuts, I see where the city of angels has decided there will be no more fast food restaurants built in South L.A. First of all, people have a choice as to what they are going to eat. Secondly, this is a poor area of L.A., and some people don't have the money to eat in other venues. Does L.A., in its efforts to make poor people healthy, have a solution as to how these people are going to eat? While fast-food restaurants toil over how they're going to produce more healthy meals, doesn't the government know the prices will go up? How will these people be able to afford that? Way too much government involvement in dictating how companies can function, defeating their purpose.

Speaking of the land of fruits and nuts, O'Reilly had a clip of Nancy Pelosi on the View today. It was in the body language segment. Pelosi didn't miss the opportunity to educate us on how important her position is. Again, she states her goal is to bring both parties together, yet she's voiced her opposition to drilling for oil in this country while over 70% of the constituents want it done. Once again, she proves that she has no regard for what the American people want. Give me Newt back for Speaker of the House. At least he's smart. Let's not forget that the black Messiah also doesn't want to drill, nor does he want to develop nuclear energy. Another "useful idiot" for the Socialists.

Haven't seen anything about Johnny Edwards, and I really wonder why. His escapades make for great news fodder, but it's amazing as to how the mainstream media has ignored it.

Lots of interesting things happening in my home state. Let's start with some crime issues that aren't just isolated to Durham. Durham has been a crime-ridden city for decades. When I moved to Atlanta in 1979, Durham had the highest murder rate per capita in the SE and in most places in the country. That was when Atlanta made news of high crime rates. Seems nothing's changed up there, except the perameters in which it's growing.

As everyone knows by now, Eve Carson, former president of the student body at UNC, was robbed and killed by two inner-city thugs from Durham. What in the hell they were doing in the location of where she lived in Chapel Hill is beyond me. Maybe Durham is robbed out!

As of last week, a guy has been robbing people at gunpoint in Raleigh and twice in Chapel Hill, once at University Mall (while the child was in a car with his mother in the middle of the day), and once in Amber Alley in the middle of town. Another thug from Durham.

I know Raleigh looks down their noses at Durham, but they had a little incident at a local mall Saturday night when several little gang-thugs caused problems, and shoppers had to leave the mall. Curfews don't appear to make a difference in behavior. These kids will cause problems at any given time. I assumed correctly, as their pictures now appear online. Yes, they are black.

A couple was shot on the NCSU campus in Raleigh by two others (I can only guess the color). None of them were students, so what in the hell were any of them doing on a college campus?

Illegals (mostly Hispanic) are raising hell because the apartment complex they live in is cracking down on registered cars and the number of people that can dwell in one apartment. This is in the liberal town of Carrboro, right next to Chapel Hill. Seems they don't think the rules apply to them. If they register their vehicles to get parking stickers, they may get caught for being illegal. Well, hell, they're already criminals. Why not just deport their asses back to where they came from?

This isn't crime-related, but it's interesting as to how you haven't heard about the encounter last week at the Beverly Hilton in LA between papparazzi and John Edwards. Seems he was seen exiting from a hotel room around 2:30 AM as a female (he's supposedly been connected to in more ways than one) entered the room. As news cameras caught up with him, he ran into a Men's room to avoid them. Why is a guy coming out of a woman's room at that hour of the night without his wife in tow? Why was he running from the cameras, while trying to escape into the Men's room for cover? Inquiring minds want to know. I'm sure he'll attempt to explain how the incident is related to his national poverty program. What a jerk!

An Islamic group has decided that it is going to inundate New York subway trains with advertisements for Islam. The ads will run during the month of September. The problem? The campaign is being promoted by an imam who has been linked to a plot to blow up landmarks throughout New York City.

The Islamic campaign is being called the Subway Project and its intended purpose is to "explain the true nature of Islam to non-Muslims who believe the religion is bent of acts of violence." But then, they have Sirah Wahhaj, a Brooklyn imam, appearing in promotional video for the project. This imam defends terrorists and calls the FBI and the CIA the "real terrorists." He also was one of the 170 unindicted co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, among others. This is really the best representation they could get for their religion of peace?

I was recently denounced by a blogger who said I had lost all credibility with them (not that I had any to start with, mind you). Well, here's one for you. Those blacks that think it's alright for them to use the "N" word (why I just don't go ahead and spell it is beyond me, as we know what I'm speaking of). I suppose I don't want to hurt the thin-skinned too much. Talk about the epitome of a contradiction. They've told us for years that whites hurt them when they use the word. Now it seems it's alright for blacks to use it, simultaneously telling us what we, as whites, can and cannot say. Seems free speech is a one-way street with them. I suppose as long as Mr. Hymietown himself can say the word, it's in vogue now. Blacks that use this word are begging for a backlash.

Speaking of blacks perpetually blaming whites for their problems, how about the NAACP suing 15 banks because they made loans to those that couldn't afford them in the first place. There are many whites in the same boat, so I don't want to hear about it being a black issue. If the government hadn't caved in to blacks' demands that banks make them loans to begin with, both parties wouldn't be having these problems. You just have to take responsibility and learn to earn what you get instead of everything being given to you. There is a great blogsite in the AJC this AM, which discusses the minimum wage issue. You wouldn't believe the mindset of the word "fairness". This blog falls right in line with the loan topic. Hell, banks get sued for not making the credible loans, then when the customers default, they want to blame the banks for their irresponsibilities. Equality means equal responsibility. Amazing, absolutely amazing!

MARTA wonders why it can't get into other counties. It's basically very simple. If their own police force would appear on cars, the problems would disappear. The Gwinnett voters turned it down again, even though they admit they need a transit system to help with these gas prices and traffic conditions. They have a legitimate concern with crime (as if there isn't enough in the area). The only way to have your cake and eat it too is to vote it in and ride the thing. If you do that, you will eliminate the bad element. The way for MARTA to achieve this is to have law enforcement on those cars, not all gathered at the stations. You're lucky so see them at the stations, especially late at night when they're especially needed. People that want to be empowered need to take back the power and not continue to flee a bad situation, but demand that it improve.

I'll tell you, these cyclists along the Chattahoochee are out of control. I had two turn in front of me at a light the other day, and proceed to ride in the road. Now, I had two choices, go around them and run into the oncoming car in the opposite lane, or just let the guy behind me keep blowing his horn at me for not moving. Well, should I have run over the idiots in the middle of the street, run into an oncoming vehicle, or just let the guy keep blowing at yours truely, who didn't cause the problem in the first place? I hate to say it, but until these fools start getting hit, they're going to cause more problems on the roads.

I see the ACLU is trying to sue the government in Montgomery, AL for their voting laws. They say convicted felons have a right to vote. Well, excuse me, it's up to each municipality, and Montgomery says "no". Once you're convicted as a felon, you lose your rights.

Women that want to compete with men in professional sports need to grow up, or should I say "man up". Danica Patrick is a pain in the ass and a complete whiner on the race car circuit. Now, because Michelle Wie forgot to sign her score card in her last LPGA tournament, she wants to try the PGA again, of which she failed miserably the first time around. Too bad that such a talent that could be an even better attribute to women's sports is screwing up. The guys don't want her around, and she isn't even close to a level of competing with them. Makes women look like idiots, and in some cases, they don't need a lot of assistance in that achievement.

Just read where the U.S. oil companies own approximately 10% of oil reserves in the world, whild the Saudis and Venezuala own 80%. One of the reasons for the stock buy-backs by the companies. If people really used their heads, instead of bitching about oil companies profits, they'd invest in their stocks. That's what both Republicans and Democrats do. That's what some of Hollywood elite do, though they won't come out with it. Make money off of them and stop complaining like a "wealth-envy" type. Those oil prices are set by the open market, not by the oil companies themselves. Get with the program and be a part of it. You'll definitely be in a better financial position.

What Is Wrong With America
Here we have a story that demonstrates the mentality of the average voter in this country. A young man by the name of Corey Ramsey tried to rob a drug store in Roanoke, Virginia. When all was said and done, Corey was DRT after he was shot by the store's owner.

Uh oh ... here we go. The family of Corey Ramsey now says that the store owner – protecting his property with a legal handgun – went too far and should be punished for killing Corey. Corey's fiancée says that the store owner went too far by shooting poor, poor pitiful Cory too many times. She says that since the store had already been robbed four times, he was taking out his frustration on Corey by killing him. Yep. No blame goes to Corey at all ... considering the fact that he himself was trying to rob the store.

Then we get testimonial from Corey's friend, Vanessa Moore. She says, "I know Corey was wrong for going in there and trying to rob the place, but he was unarmed." Yes, Vanessa, Corey was wrong. He is a bad person who tried to rob someone of their property. And even though he was "unarmed," he wrestled with the store owner for his gun ... so yes, he was a threat. Then Vanessa gives us the typical line, "Corey was a good person. He wouldn't have harmed anyone." I'm sorry, Vanessa. Corey is not a good person. He was a thug. He's now a dead thug. Dead thugs are good thugs. AMF Corey.

This is just like those parents whose excuse always sounds like this: "He's not a bad kid; he just fell in with the wrong crowd." Yeah, like hell. And on a final note, the family is upset because Corey is being seen as the bad guy in this situation ... rather than the store clerk who, they believe, should be charged with murder. These people, my friends, will be voting in the upcoming election .... ..... and it won't be for McCain.

This is an absolute scream - I love Boortz's sense of humor and the manner in which he handles situations. BTW, I had the experience of meeting him at his last book-signing, and he was a total gentleman.

Favorite Stories From the Past
I was having lunch yesterday with an assortment of pimps and hookers. I like to keep in touch with my peeps, you know. Anyway --- someone wanted me to tell the story of the woman who dumped her ashtray out of her car window in front of my office many years ago. Super – I'll tell the story in hopes that someone will duplicate my efforts in the future.

It was back in the days when I spent three hours a day yammering on the radio, and the rest of the day practicing law. One afternoon some weed fiend pulled her car into a parking lot right under my first floor office window. Before she wandered off to conduct whatever business she had in the building, she dumped her full ashtray right onto the pavement. Now I happened to own this office building, and since I was the one who had to pay to clean her crap up, I was less than thrilled. Here's where the fun began.

While this sickening smoker was inside doing her business I grabbed a tube of super glue out of the junk drawer and headed outside. In about ten minutes I had successfully super glued every single cigarette butt to her windshield. You think you've seen angry? You think you've seen royally pissed off? Well only if you were sitting in my office when this woman came back to her car. You could hear the screams across the expressway. Talking about taking the Lord's name in vain .. there was a loud "GD M-Fers" every time she ripped one of those butts off. The problem was, each and every butt left a little patch of paper stuck to her windshield, and there was nothing she could do without a razor to scrape them off. She backed out of the parking space and screeched out of the lot ... probably screaming all the way home. I'm tellin' you .. .it was orgasmic.

This is what happens when society sits back and waits too long to raise hell with their liberal-assed governments.
A QUESTION FOR THE BRITS
While I'm in London next week, I'm curious to find out more about Muslims in Great Britain. It is stories like this get my knickers in a knot.
Just a few weeks ago, Britain released Abu Qatada from prison. He happens to be al Qaeda's ambassador in Europe and is considered one of the world's most dangerous terrorist suspects. But now he is wondering through the streets of London, buying Coca Cola and enjoying life ... all at the tax payers' expense.

First of all, Qatada is allowed to stay in Great Britain rather than being shipped back home to Jordon because this would violate his human rights. So he is living in Great Britain with his wife and children in a home that costs over a million dollars. And the family receives over $100,000 in tax payer benefits each year, which are protected by court order. That is not including the tens of thousands of dollars the tax payers are paying to monitor and keep surveillance of this man.

Attended my first local campaign meeting last night. The new owner of a coffee shop close to where I live is running for the State House of Representatives here in GA. I've volunteered to help him in his campaign. What a nice group of people. Now starts the planning stages, fundraisers, etc. I've also inquired as to how to help in the McCain campaign here in the state. The structure is a bit discombobulated, but with the new head of the national campaign, that should change. We'll see.

Book notes and other items of interest

For those that have any interest, whatsoever, of expanding the mind by actually reading, I'm excited to start a book I've been wanting to read for awhile, "Liberal Fascism", by Jonah Goldberg. I've heard this term, carelessly thrown randomly about by libs, so it's time I get in touch with what it really means. I certainly can't trust them to know.

Another one that was highly-recommended is, "Underground History of American Education", by John Gatto. This should prove interesting, as some of us are onto the public education system and what it's real goal has been since the 1800s. It's said to be a bit lengthy, about 400 pages.

Well, I just finished one that is 860 pages, so I think I can manage it. It was simply titled, "The Beatles", by Bob Spitz. Excellent account of their lives from the time they started playing together in the mid-'50s until their break-up in 1969. It pretty well stayed focused on their music and emergence in creativity as their music changed. The only thing that slowed me down on finishing this was the fact that I came upon a brief, but quite educational book, I decided to read mid-way through The Beatles. "The ACLU vs. America" should be required reading in college.

Another one, I won't read again (I've read it twice) happens to me my favorite of all time. I'm attending a 10-session group discussion on it. "Atlas Shrugged", by Ayn Rand. Now, that's a long book! The discussion highlights Rand's philosophy of "objectivism" as it relates to the plot and characters in the book. Deep discussions from intelligent people that I can learn from.

Now, onward to the news of the day: I can only hope that instead of responses that consist of mere psycho-babble can stay focused on the topics at hand. I'd appreciate some intelligent comments/conversation about real issues. I find that those that can't respond directly to a topic, take the idiot's way out by feebly attempting to divert the conversation into a garbled mindset that would probably confuse Freud.

I've considered taking Spanish classes (did in high school and don't remember a thing) in order to understand Hispanics when they start up, and I don't know what in the hell they're saying. Then, after re-thinking that effort, I decided it's not my place to understand them. It's their place to learn and speak English fluently if they want to be a part of this country.

OBAMA EMBARRASSED?
Now we know that Barack Obama is embarrassed that Americans can't speak more foreign languages. A few points.

It is more important for the world to learn to speak English than it is for us to learn to speak their languages. English is the official language of air traffic control – world wide.
You can drive 4,500 miles from Miami to Alaska and find English spoken every foot of the way. In Europe you often can't drive 450 miles without the language being spoken.
Now I'm not against learning foreign languages .. but the fact that Americans are not bilingual – we don't need to be – shouldn't embarrass our president.

Hope you find this as informative and interesting as I did. In contrast to the ideals, opinions and feelings of today's 'Hollywonk,' the real actors of yester-year loved the United States . They had both class and integrity. With the advent of World War II many of our actors went to fight rather than stand and rant against this country we all love. They gave up their wealth, position and fame to become service men & women, many as simple 'enlisted men'. This page lists but a few, but from this group of only 18 men came over 70 medals in honor of their valor, spanning from Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, Distinguish Service Cross', Purple Hearts and one Congressional Medal of Honor. So remember; while the 'Entertainers of 2005-2006' have been in all of the news media lately, I would like to remind the people of what the entertainers of 1943 were doing (64 years ago). Most of these brave men have since passed on, 'Real Hollywood Heros'.

Alec Guinness (Star Wars) operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day.

James Doohan ('Scotty' on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U. S. Army on D-Day.

Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) really was an R. A. F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner, and tortured by the Germans.

David Niven was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos in Normandy.

James Stewart Entered the Army Air Force as a private and worked his way to the rank of Colonel. During World War II, Stewart served as a bomber pilot. His service record credited him with leading more than 20 missions over Germany and taking part in hundreds of air strikes during his tour of duty. Stewart earned the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, France's Croix de Guerre, and 7 Battle Stars during World War II. In peace time, Stewart continued to be an active member of the Air Force as a reservist, reaching the rank of Brigadier General before retiring in the late 1950s.

Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) Although he was beyond the draft age at the time the U.S. entered WW II, Clark Gable enlisted as a private in the AAF on Aug. 12, 1942 at Los Angeles. He attended the Officers' Candidate School at Miami Beach, Fla. and graduated as a second lieutenant on Oct. 28, 1942. Read a good article on how sloppy Americans have become in their dress. This isn't new, but seems to be prevailing even with older people. I have a thing about guys over 21 wearing baseball caps backwards, but wearing them at all in restaurants, the theatre, etc. is just flat out disrespectful of the venues. Women look more and more slutty every day. There are those my age trying to dress like their daughters, which is totally ridiculous. I see young women come into the bridal salon right out of the shower (that is, if they shower). There is no self-respect anymore. This goes way beyond business casual, which is now an oxymoron. Women have played right into the hands of the feminist movement that pushes them more to be like men. Then they wonder why they have problems with men. How can guys respect them when they don't even respect themselves? Last week, I had a bride that came in to try on dresses, and she didn't even have underwear on. I had to send her out to buy some, and of course, she didn't return, which was fine with me. I found her bare, tatooed ass offensive. I have to admit, we looked a hell of a lot better a generation ago than the women of today look. At least we, in the South, took time to look good. Maybe it's another Northern influence that has taken place in the migration to the South.

I see where the NAACP is suing 15 banks for making loans to blacks that can't pay their mortgages. This is hysterical on two levels. There are many white people having the same problems, so it's not an issue of discrimination. Secondly, weren't they suing banks a few years ago because they wouldn't loan money to non-qualifiers? This is what happens when you get what you demand whether you should or not. How can a group of people play the blame game when they can't hold up their end of the bargain? Again, it's called responsibility. This is what happens when people are given things they haven't earned. The American dream is a dream, not a right.

Good news on two issues!

First, Mark Steyn wins a judgement against him in a Canadian court. He was taken to task about negative remarks made concerning Muslims. His book, "America Alone", has been widely discussed by many that I've run into. He's an excellent writer and denotes facts about Muslim communities in various countries. If Canada had found him guilty of non-other than offending Muslims (seems everything offends that crowd), it would have been a direct hit on free speech. Glad he won!

Secondly, the Supreme Court made the right decision to follow the Second Ammendment of the Constitution. Yes, private citizens are allowed to own and carry weapons. If it weren't for the bleeding hearts of the judicial system, we wouldn't have perpetual felons out on the streets. Law enforcement officials will tell you it's not their job to protect you. They are there to enforce the law. With all the hardened criminals running loose, law-abiding citizens need the capacity to defend themselves. I don't always agree with the Supreme Court, but this ruling was definitely necessary.

Read an article where Muslims in the UK are offended by sniffer dogs trained to assist law enforcement officials. Well, excuse me, but I imagine there are some dogs that are offended by the lack of bathing by some of those people. They demand foot baths, but how about bathing the whole body? I feel for the dogs on this one.

On to Obama - I see where the AFL-CIO has endorsed him. No surprise here, now he has access to their funding, which is tremendous. He tends to associate with those that are less than law-abiding, and here is another corrupt group supporting him.

If you think the country is in a recession now, just wait. If the mighty chocolate (as Spike Lee mentions) Messiah becomes head of this nation, we'll be in a full-blown depression. He will hike payroll taxes (elliviating jobs). He wants to tax households (not individuals) that bring in more than $250K annually. This is a large portion of the population with two people working. This is the upper middle class (not the super rich) that support this country every day. Once this Marxist practice is implemented, you'll feel the rewards of a totalitarian government, which his parents and church have instilled in the Messiah himself. He's no different from Hillary, just more personable in his manner.

Oh, on an educational note, Obama wants your tax dollars to pay for more government-funded schools for children from 0-5 years of age. Why should I (with no children) continue to pay for publicly-funded schools that aren't teaching children what is needed for them to compete against the other industrialized nations? It's called indoctrination at the youngest age.

Once again, Muslims need to go back where they originated.
We have another story of Muslim workers refusing to wear their company mandated uniforms because it is offensive to their religion. This time it is Mission Foods, which makes tortillas. Mission Foods in Minnesota has been accused of religious intolerance for requiring six female Muslim workers to wear uniforms. Imagine the horror. The uniforms include pants and a shirt, but the Muslim women are upset because they feel the pants are too revealing.

Because they refused to wear the uniforms, these six Muslims workers were fired. That, of course, is the proper way to handle this. Naturally this meant that the Minnesota chapter of CAIR had to get involved. Valerie Shirley, a spokeswoman for CAIR says that wearing tight fitting pants is like being naked to these women. Now CAIR is fighting to get their jobs reinstated.

Here's a concept ... these jobs do not belong to these Muslim women. The jobs belong to the employer. If the women don't want to wear the uniform, go find a job that will allow you to wear all of the loose-fitting Muslim garb. These companies should not have the bend the rules just to appease six Muslim women who are too afraid that they might show off what they've been hiding under all that clothing. There is a reason these companies do not like loose-fitting clothing. It's about safety. It's not like the company was asking them to come to work in bikinis. Nobody forced them to work for this tortilla company. Go somewhere else. It's as simple as that.

This taxpayer money will be used to "extend a hand to folks who are struggling" in order to bail people out of their mortgages. Another translation: We will extend a hand to people who made stupid decisions, bought more house than they could afford, borrowed more than they could pay back, and then ran their credit card bills up with lifestyle spending while ignoring their mortgage payments.

Barack Obama filled in for Ted Kenney as the commencement speaker at Wesleyan University. One of his main messages seemed to be the idea of becoming a good little government subject. He urged the graduates to "make us believe again" by dedicating themselves to public service. In other words, this country will go down the toilet if you choose to become an entrepreneur and be successful and make a healthy profit for personal gain. It is asked that you give up personal "greed" and serve for the common good.

Think for a moment what our country would be like if every college graduate out there dedicated himself to public service. The public sector creates no wealth. It consumes wealth. With every striving to be a public servant, who is going to produce the wealth out there?

Obama also urged students to focus on more than "the big house and the nice suits and all the other things that our money culture says you should buy." So in a capitalist society, it is bad for you to want more than others may be able to have, according to Barack Obama.

Are you seeing where he is going with statements like this? They are small statements, but they are laden with messages of wealth envy and anti-capitalist rhetoric.

This is absurd - I knew people that attended Wake Forest. Their student body (at least for undergrads) is approximately 6,000 students. Small, excellent school. Well, does it surprise anyone that a female is head of admissions? I'm curious as to how they will judge subjective qualities, such as character and talent. Talent for what? Here is some interesting history regarding Barack's upbringing, in addition to the Jeremiah Wright influence. You won't see this in the mainstream media that is pushing him for the Democratic nominee.

Stanley Ann Dunham, Mercer Island High School

Stanley Ann Dunham Obana Soetoro (November 29, 1942 - November 7, 1995), known as Ann Dunham and/or Stanley Ann Dunham, was an American anthropologist, left-wing social activist, and the mother of Senator Barack Obama. She was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Stanley and Madelyn Dunham. Her father was a furniture salesman in downtown Seattle, Washington, and her mother worked for a bank. After a year living in Seattle, her family moved to Mercer Island , Washington, in 1956 so that 13-year old Ann could attend the Mercer Island High School that had just opened. At the school she was on the debate team and graduated in 1960.

Her family moved to Hawaii and Ann attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she studied anthropology. When Ann Dunham arrived in Hawaii , she was a full fledged radical leftist and practitioner of critical theory. She also began to engage in miscegenation (inter-racial relationships) as part of her attack on society. Susan Blake, one of her friends, has stated she never dated "the crew-cut white boys". She had a world view, even as a young girl. It was embracing the different, rather than that ethnocentric thing of shunning the different. That was where her mind took her. In Hawaii she met Barack Obama, Sr. from Kenya in her Russian language class. Barack Obama, Jr. was born August 4, 1961, but was called "Barry."

Barack Obama, Sr. left Ann and their son in 1963 to attend Harvard in Boston. Press reports claim Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. were divorced around this time; however, no evidence has yet been discovered to show they were ever married. The senior Obama obtained a masters degree in economics at Harvard and returned to Kenya in 1965 where he obtained a position in the Kenyan government. He was killed in an automobile accident in 1982.

Two years later, when her son was five, Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian oil manager and practicing Muslim whom she met at the university. In 1967 they moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. While in Indonesia Ann got a job at the American embassy teaching English.

Barack's half-sister, Maya Soetoro was born in Indonesia . Ann, Barry, and his sister Maya moved back to Hawaii . Ann Dunham soon returned to Indonesia with Maya but divorced Soetoro in the late 1970s.

Dunham traveled around the world, pursuing a career in rural development that took her to Ghana , India , Thailand , Indonesia , Nepal and Bangladesh . In 1986 Ann Dunham worked on a developmental project in Pakistan . Later that year Ann and her daughter traveled the Silk Road in China . In 1992 she earned a Ph.D in anthropology from the University of Hawaii . Her dissertation, "Peasant Blacksmithing in Indonesia : Surviving and Thriving Against All Odds," was 1067 pages long. She worked for the Ford Foundation and promoted Microlending. During this time, while his mother was roaming around the world, Barack Hussein Obama Jr "Barry" was being raised by his grandmother....the same woman he would later describe as a "typical white person". His affectionate nickname, used by grandparents, was "Bar."

In 1980, Barry announced to everyone that he would no longer be called Barry, but would only answer to his formal name, also the name of his father, as Barack. He explained that he wanted his identity to mirror that of his paternal lineage.

During Obama's campaign for the 2008 presidential election he has portrayed his mother as just an ordinary conservative girl from Kansas; however in reality she was a radical leftist and cultural Marxist. She lived in the Seattle area; spending her teenage years in Seattle coffee shops with other young radical leftists. Obama claims his mother's family were conservative Methodists or Baptists from Kansas . Not true in any way. His mother's parents were members of a left-wing Unitarian church near Seattle . The church located in Bellevue, Washington was knicknamed "the little red church," because of it's leftist leanings.

The school Ann attended, Mercer Island High School , was a hotbed of pro-Marxist radical teachers. John Stenhouse, board member, told the House Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of the Communist Party USA and this school has a number of Marxists on its staff. Two teachers at this school, Val Foubert and Jim Wichterman, both Frankfurt School style Marxists, taught a critical theory curriculum to students which included; rejection of societal norms, attacks on Christianity, the traditional family, and assigned readings by Karl Marx. The hallway between Foubert's and Wichterman classrooms was sometimes called "anarchy ally."

Dunham has been described by her friends as "a fellow traveler..." meaning a communist/socialist sympathizer.

In an interview, Barack Obama referred to his mother as "the dominant figure in my formative years... The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics."

Before she died Ann Dunham wanted to adopt a mixed-race Korean baby fathered by a Black American stationed in South Korea . Ann Dunham died in Hawaii in 1995 of ovarian cancer and uterine cancer.

On his campaign trail, practically none of Obama's descriptions of his family history, environment, his developmental years, schooling and/or his parents is anywhere near truth or historical, verifiable fact.

Official beginning of Summer now, so some topics of interest are as follows:

Spent the holiday weekend down in East Atlanta in Ormewood Park. Old, neat little neighborhood. Unfortunately, so many homes have bars over their windows, at one point, I thought I was back in Costa Rica. It's unfortunate that some homeowners have done wonders with their homes and lawns, while right next door or across the street, some appear to look like garbage dumps. As much as suburban neighborhood ordinances can be a pain, I totally appreciate them after seeing some of the mess I saw down there. The good news is, once the housing market picks up again, the area will continue to change and go up in value. As this happens, it will weed out (no pun intended) the undesireables that continue to de-value property. The neighborhood demographic is definintely changing for the better, now they just have to dissolve the crime-ridden areas.

Obama - another example of affirmative action and the Ivy Leagues. I can forgive a mistatement (well, actually not while running for the President of the US) of traveling in all "57" states, but this business of a non-existant uncle that helped free prisoners from the wrong prison camp in Germany is just too much. Doesn't he know his own family? We all know what this is about, getting the Jewish vote. If he can't get his facts straight before speaking, we're in for a huge blow if he becomes President. Hopefully, he'll have a cabinet that is better at writing his speeches than his campaign advisors.

I just read where Big Brown is training for the Belmont in 1 1/2 weeks. He has a 3/4 inch crack in his right front hoof that is healing. Now, isn't that just special? I viewed a special on ESPN last week. Bernie Goldberg, who is a regular contributor on FOX News on The O'Reilly Factor, did a segment on thoroughbreds. I almost threw up at one point. If these horses survive injuries and are able to breed, they live a good life after racing. If they become too slow or,for whatever reason, are no longer acceptable to race, odds are they won't breed. When owners decide it's too expensive to keep them around, guess swhat? They're taken away by autioneers. They are put into an auction stable to be bid on. Once they are bought, they are taken to cattle stalls where they are stunned (sometimes until they die, sometimes not). Then (even when alive) they are hoisted upside down, cut, and bled out. Then their carcasses are sold for meat to be shipped overseas where countries eat horse meat. Can you imagine eating what was once a beautiful racing animal? Once again, animals should NOT be bred exclusively for human entertainment. Horse-racing is NOT the genteel sport it's projected to be, and this treatment is horrific. If they have to go this route, why not just humanely euthanize them? It's completely disgusting, and the sport is now being viewed much more closely than ever.

Wonder how long Ted Kennedy has left? I never wish death on anyone, but if someone is going to have something this bad happen to them, I can't think of a better person.

I see where the Boy Scouts are under scrutiny again for not alllowing gays into their organization. The best thing they can do is get the hell out of a government facility. More ACLU infiltration of our government at its best.

Another thing I've noticed, if a topic doesn't pertain to race issues or feminists, there is no interest. Awww .. what's the matter, Barack? Are things getting a bit warm out there? Barack was complaining yesterday that Republicans are bringing up his wife, Michelle, in their campaign commercials. He says that this is "unacceptable."

First of all .. Obama seems to spend a lot of time telling the rest of us what is acceptable and what isn't. It sounds like this guy really likes the idea of wielding power. Imagine a country where behavior is limited not on the basis of whether or not the violation of individual rights might occur, but based on whether of not the behavior is "acceptable." And who, by the way, gets to determine acceptability?

Look: It was Michelle Obama who made the amazing utterance that "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country." She never found anything to be proud of in America until her husband became the front-runner for the Democrat nomination. Well, you know what? I find her attitude unacceptable. With al of the good this country has done for so many people around the world, she has not one moment of national pride until they coronate her husband? What about America's relief effort after the Indian Ocean tsunami? Nothing to be proud of there? What about or relief efforts in so many other parts of the world. How about spending $15 billion to fight HIV in Africa? No moment of pride there?

If Obama wants his wife to be off limits in this campaign then he can tell her to stay the hell home and tend to the kids and leave the campaigning to him. If she speaks for his campaign, if she inserts herself into the campaign in any way, then she becomes a part of the Obama campaign and she is subject to scrutiny and comment. If she can't stand the campaign heat, she should get back into the kitchen. And as for Obama ... Has it ever occurred to you that there are legions of people in this country who don't give a flying burrito over what you find to be acceptable or not acceptable?

Time for Muslims to go home.
THE OFFENSIVE SERVICE DOG
A student at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota (I believe) had to leave his teacher training program because his service dog was threatened by a Muslim student. Tyler Hurd is a 23-year-old student in a teacher-training program at Technical High School. Hurd has a service dog, a black lab, by the name of Emmitt who is trained to protect Hurd when he has seizures. Hurd's seizures can occur weekly and they are the result of a childhood injury.

Hurd's dog Emmitt was threatened by a Somali student who is ... Muslim. As we know, Muslims forbid the touching of dogs. But students at the Tech schools taunted his dog and when a Muslim student threatened to kill the dog, that's when Hurd decided to leave his training.

The schools are calling the situation a "misunderstanding." What's to misunderstand ... the Muslim faith does not accept dogs. They are offensive. Therefore, it is the job of those surrounding the Muslim faith to bend to its every request.

For those that worry about what other countries think of us, here's a good example!

This is some good news. An immigration raid of a kosher meatpacking plant in Iowa is estimated arrest 700 illegal aliens.

Somebody bust out the sympathy card ... immigrants are being hit the hardest by foreclosures because they are unfamiliar with the U.S. mortgage market, unable to speak or read English well and vulnerable to those evil real estate professionals who told them property values always rise.

Seems Muslims want to practice "suing" more than the mainstream "victims" in this country.
Here's irony for you ... Iran says it will sue the United States and Great Britain for supposedly financially supporting a mosque explosion that killed 14 people.

Another brilliant idea from the "first female Speaker".
Remember Nancy Pelosi's pledge for earmark reform? I guess when she meant "reform" she only meant for other legislatures ... considering she just added a $170 million earmark for the salmon industry in the Farm Bill.

When are these "poor, working parents" going to realize what makes babies, especially those they can't afford.
Arkansas is calling state government handouts to poor, working parents an "emerging social experiment." What's so "emerging" about government leaches and wealth redistribution?

As I've said, we don't need to be spending more money for government schools. Here is a prime example of the squandering of tax dollars.
Remember the Dallas Independent School District we told you about yesterday where 75% of graduating seniors can't read beyond an 8th grade level? The day before that statistic was announced, the school district was awarded a $1.35 billion bond to build even more schools to educate even more government geniuses.

There have been some recent events I'll comment on, but first, there are a few topics that don't have anything to do with the public spotlight that I have opinions about.

A few years ago, the administrators at UNC wanted to mandate the reading of the Quran for incoming Freshmen. This stirred up quite a controversy, to say the least. I believe in suggesting vs. mandating. I do believe it would have been a good idea for students to read the Quran, but not for the rationale of the administration. They would have been given a watered-down version instead of the real deal, thus they would not have been educated about what is really taught to true believers of Islam. Recently, a conservative group that donates huge dollars to the University wanted to mandate the incoming read my favorite book, "Atlas Shrugged", by Ayn Rand. Since this book highlights the concept of Capitalism, you can imagine the screaming that went on from the administration. After all, Capitalism and academia don't quite gel. Again, I don't believe in mandates, but since the University depends on donations, then those that have the money can/do pull some strings. If the liberal faculty squirrels don't want the money, then they don't have to abide by the wishes of those that are being generous. What's amazing to me is they had no problem with (approved of) the students having to read the Quran, but had a hissy-fit about them reading a novel focusing on the system this country was founded on. Another blatant display of hypocrisy by the liberal elite.

Speaking of novels, I just finished one by Sinclair Lewis; "It Can't Happen Here". I read "Main Street" in high school, and am familiar with Babbitt, but never had heard of this one. An excellent read, especially at this time in political history. It reminds me a bit of Orwell's, "1984", in that it shows what happens to a free society when revolution and a dictatorship takes over. Both political parties lose, as we all know what a dictatorship means. When a country becomes so divisive, as ours is now, it accelerates at a rapid pace. This book was written in 1935 and mirrors what is happening 73 years later.

Everytime I hear mothers wanting to be able to breast-feed wherever they want, I totally cringe, and here is why. I find it intrusive on my space in public and would think that if it were such a "bonding" time between mother and child, they would want privacy instead of exploiting their motherhood. I've always joked that if they could flop them out on the table and start breast-feeding right there on the food court, they'd be changing diapers on top of the table next. Well, I viewed a guy (mom was sitting on the other side of the table) changing a poop diaper in the booth next to the table I was seated at recently. I had lunch with former business colleagues and could NOT believe what I was seeing. Don't people realize we don't want bacteria from fecal matter mixed with the food we eat, not to mention I was eating, for God's sake! Glad I saw it, I'll NEVER sit in that booth! Society has lost all decency and class, I'm convinced of that.

On to animals. I see where the Atlanta aquarium is going to get dolphins now. Too bad, as they can't keep the whales alive. What a shame, but what's worse is they are going to let people swim with them. I've seen this down in Florida, but at least they are exposed to an environment that is more close to their habitat. Being sealed in an aquarium and having to put up with people in their space is assinine. They've discussed allowing people to pet the whales, totally disregarding the problems they've had with them being in this type of captivity. The idea is totally self-serving. It's not as if the aquarium doesn't make plenty of money without having to resort to these tactics.

I'm totally disgusted with thoroughbred horse-racing. The debacle that occurred at the Derby a couple of weeks ago proves that nothing has been done in the three years that Barbaro went down at the Preakness. There are several observations as to why this is happening, among them being young ages of the horses, the heavy weight (questions regarding steroids aside), schedules of races, inbreeding, surfaces of tracks, drugs administered for injuries to keep them racing before they're c0mpletely healed, and the type of training they endure (faster for shorter races vs. endurance for longer races). Eight Belles' father and grandfather had a history of weak legs, and the owner and trainer put her in the Derby against the colts. Something has to be done, and with this happening in the public eye at more popular races, I would like to believe it will. Even equine veterinarians are questioning some of the old habits of trainers, and that's a good thing.

The egotistical Bob Barr has decided to try and run on the Libertarian ticket here in Georgia. Trust me, it's not because he's tired of the Republicans. It's because he was spurned by the local Republicans after perpetually pissing them off. He's taking the point of frightened liberals regarding civil liberties and playing it to the hilt. First of all, if you're not breaking the law, you won't get in trouble. Mr. Barr uses this issue as an excuse to defend those that habor funds offshore in order to avoid paying income tax on that money. I know this for a fact, as an ex-boyfriend of mine has a good buddy that (not once, but twice) was investigated for offshore accounts. The second time, he went to the Federal Pen here in Atlanta for three months. Since he was a former CIA buddy of Barr's, it was only fitting that Barr would represent him. Barr performed a shoddy job, as my ex had the money released from the offshore account (with the help of a friend of his that lives there). Barr is washed-up in politics and only wants to try and stick it to the party that dumped him. I've amusingly read his columns, denouncing the Bush administration's security program. I'd rather have security than be killed any day. Barr just wants an easy way to allow his pals to break the law.

Last, but not least, a brief explanation of Jeremiah Wright. I attended Theology Cafe last Wednesday night. There was a young, black gentleman that attends Theology school and volunteers to try and help prostitutes get off the street and with their rehabilitation. I've met him before, and he's a very nice guy. Let me preface this by saying, he does NOT agree with Jeremiah Wright or the black liberation theology he preaches. Liberation theology started decades ago, in an effort to shift ideas of Christianity to Marxism. It was typical psycho-babble of the radical leftists, using a religious platform to tout their political ideas. Taking it to another level, blacks started doing it in the '60s, thus "black" liberation theology. Basically, it's a Marxist/Socialist view of how to achieve utopia (which we all know doesn't exist, other than in the fantasy minds of liberals). Black theology teaches that until there is a revolution, and blacks win over whites, there will be no utopia, and they will continued to be oppressed. This is a great example of psycho-babble in the hands of black racists, and yes, they are racists. They view whites as the evil devil, and we wonder why they are so racist against us. The good news is, young people entering theology school (where all of this is being taught), aren't buying into it as much as the past generations that perpetuate and keep it going. I also happened to, by accident, run across this topic on the Web last week, and the article almost duplicated what this young man told us. It was quite an enlightening discussion and explains why the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc. get by with using their own people to their advantage.

THE LATEST GLOBAL WARMING TAX
When you want to save the planet from a non-existent crisis ... taxes and wealth redistribution seems like the way to go. In Estonia, farmers will now be taxed for the methane emissions produced by their cattle. Cattle produce the largest amounts of methane gas through belching and flatulence ... this accounts for 15-25% of overall gas emissions. One cow has the ability to produce an average of about 350 liters of methane and 1,500 liters of carbon dioxide each and every single day. Apparently this isn't the first country to propose taxes along these lines. New Zealand also proposed a flatulence tax because New Zealand cattle are responsible for 90% of the country's methane emissions.

Al Sharpton owes $1.5 million in overdue taxes and associated penalties ... must be because the IRS is racist. I'm sure he'll find an excuse.

Glad to see there are some smart people out there - we should take note here in the U.S.

REQUIRING VOTER ID NOW VALIDATED
Another strong lesson in just why presidents can be so important ... Supreme Court nominations. Thanks to the work of George W. Bush we have a Supreme Court that has ruled – on a 6-3 vote – that it is OK for states to require picture IDs from voters before they cast a vote.

The left is not amused. And just why is the left not amused? That one is easy. Because the left – and Democrats in particular – are depending on illegally cast votes for their future power. Just why do you think Democrats are so dead set against doing something to control the Hispanic invasion? These people are future voters? Ask Loretta Sanchez from Southern California how she managed to beat Bob Dornan in 1996. Illegal votes, that's how. You might not know that Ms. Loretta ran for office before .. but with her married Anglo name. She changed her last name to Sanchez and the Hispanic population came out to support her ... and we don't just mean the legal Hispanic community. When the Republicans wanted to start an investigation of illegals voting in that election the Democrats predictably started screaming racism. Racism ... the great Democrat refuge. If there had been a picture ID requirement in that district in 1996 Loretta Sanchez would never have been elected.

Did you know that the plaintiffs in the lawsuit to kill the Indiana picture ID requirement couldn't find any victims? What a tragedy it is when a Democrat can't find a victim. The plaintiffs could not produce one shred of evidence that any legal Indiana resident would be prevented from casting a legal vote by a law requiring a picture ID. The law that was approved by the Supremes is an Indiana law, and it is very stringent. Let's see how it affects the Indiana primary.
By the way, Justice Souter in his dissent made some remark about the "right to vote." Even some of the Justices don't get it.

DAMNED EVIL RICH PEOPLE
Don't liberals just love to holler about "tax cuts for the rich?" It doesn't matter what the facts are – people just love to hear that stuff. In a country awash with achievement envy (a/k/a "wealth envy") people just love to hear that those who have accomplished more than they are going to be hammered for daring to excel.

Well ... not to burst your bubble, but a report from the National Center for Policy Analysis shows that the tax burden has been increasing on the evil rich faster than their incomes have been going up.

Here's a quickie look at the figures since 1986.
The share of the income tax paid by the top 1 percent of income earners went from 25.8 percent to over 37 percent. The percentage their total income that the top 1 percent of income earners paid from their income to the federal government rose from 18.3 percent to 19.6 percent. The percentage paid by the bottom fifth of income earners went from 0.4 percent to zero percent.
The income share of the top 1 percent rose from 11.3 percent to 19 percent while their share of income taxes rose from 26 to 37 percent. That's a 7.7 percent increase in income and a 11 percent increase in income taxes.

Clearly these evil rich people are getting away with murder. We need to really raise their taxes, don't we?

JET FUEL AND THOSE EVIL RICH
The Congress has created a bill that increases fuel taxes for business-jet owners by 65%. Senate leaders have agreed that an increase of jet fuel taxes to 36 cents a gallon – that's up from 21.8 cents now – will help to finance federal air traffic control upgrades.

Senator Jay Rockefeller, a Democrat from West Virginia, wanted to double taxes from corporate aircraft while cutting fees for airlines. He says he wants to do this because the airlines pay "disproportionately" for aviation services. Instead, he got this "smaller" boost, which will mean that small-jet owners will pay 5% of all federal aviation costs. Raising the tax on this fuel used by those evil private jet owners will bring an additional $240 million a year.

Jay Rockefeller says, ``This agreement is a good down payment toward ending the growing inequities that exist between airline passengers and corporate jet users." But an airline trade group, the Air Transport Association, says that this still falls short of "the costs they impose on the system."

You do realize, of course, that what you're seeing here is simple pandering to wealth envy, don't you?

DEAR GOVERNMENT SCHOOL PARENTS ...
In Osceola County, Florida, one school board member has taken a page from the Boortz guide to the painful truth. Over a week ago, the Osceola government school district decided that its students were going to wear uniforms. Immediately, parents began complaining that they couldn't afford to buy their children new clothing.

So Jay Wheeler sent this message to these government school parents in an email: "Everyone can afford Wal-Mart and if they can't they need to think about turning off their cable TV or stop buying alcohol or cigarettes and spend their money on their children."
Wow. Way to go Jay. Hot Damn! Gotta love it

Of course, parents were offended by the email. Oh, the poor, poor pitiful offended parents. Come on! If they can't afford the uniforms what in the hell are they doing with the children? Children are expensive to raise. If you can't afford one, take an aspirin ... and hold it between your knees. Maria Quintana says that she was speechless when she first saw the message. She said, "It is insulting. I have to go to school, I have a job and sometimes it's really hard you have to struggle and to have them say something like that is really degrading."

Ahhhh ... another woman who downloaded a child she cannot afford. No surprise there.

DUMBING DOWN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS
In Norfolk, Virginia government school administrators want to lower academic requirements so that more students can play football. Right now, freshmen who want to play sports must earn at least a 2.0 GPA – that's about a C average. In these days of grade inflation anyone with a pulse should be able to do that ... especially in a government school. But still, last school year, three out of every 10 rising ninth-graders in Norfolk did not have a 2.0 grade point average, which qualifies them to play sports. Just how dumb are the children of Norfolk?

School administrators are afraid that if you don't let students play sports, they will turn to gangs and drugs and other negative influences. So rather than clean up the kids, you dumb down the school. I guess that playing sports in high school is not a privilege, it is a right. Now I am picking on Norfolk because this is where the story came from ... there are plenty of government schools out there where there are no requirements to play sports. In fact, administrators will bend the rules for "kids who have gone off the beaten path" just so they can continue being the football star.

But isn't it sad folks when one third of students in this school district can't even get a C average? But if they are allowed to play on the football team, they will become better students? This is about culture, not sports.

A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual

The balance had been $0.00 when she died, but now its somewhere around $60.00.

A family member placed a call to Citibank. Here is the exchange :

Citibank: 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.
Family Member: 'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.
Citibank: 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.

It's the NCAAs, and I'm ready! Bracektology is here! I wait all year for this, it's my second favorite time of year, next to Christmas. Now that my team is the regular season champion, along with ACC Champions, I can hardly wait until Friday night. Their standing in the conference lends them a #1 seeding, meaning they play in Raleigh (providing they win those two games), then on to Charlotte. If they win all games, they won't even have to get out of the state of NC (home court advantage here) before going to the Final Four! It's theirs to lose at this point.

The only damper on the whole atmosphere is still the horrific shooting of UNC's student body President almost two weeks ago. The sad fact of the matter is, the 17-year old won't get the death penalty by law. What's worse, is he was out running around with a rap sheet a mile long, some felony charges. What's even worse is he has been accused of shooting a Duke doctoral student to death in his apartment in January. Duke and UNC are only eight miles apart, and these gang, rapping, scum, thugs are running around because the liberal court system in Durham continually let these trashbags out. I know the mentality there because I'm from Durham. The black race runs everything, thus letting their own literally get by with murder.

We don't have to go into what they tried to pull with the Duke lacrosse case, but you get the picture. The Duke University liberal adiministration is to blame as much for that fiasco as anyone.

If my daughter had been shot like Eve Carson was, I'd be suing the City of Durham. I don't know how much more they can handle, considering the flurry of lawsuits hitting them up over the lacrosse case(s). I'm sure the Duke family is turning over there in their graves at the Chapel. They gave considerably to the black schools and NCCU while building their tobacco empire and their energy business. They also gave to orphanages, including a black one in the community, and this is the thanks given back to the white community.

Nothing is appreciated unless it's worked for, and the giving is going to start drying up if things don't change. I've mentioned reverse discrimination in past postings, let's think about reverse racism for a change. Hell, come to think of it, all you have to do is listen to Obama's minister.

Well, it's Friday, and that's good. The bad news is we already go on DST this weekend, losing an hour of needed sleep. This is getting rather ridiculous. We no longer have a "need" for it. It's been posted today (and I said this last year) that there is no energy savings here. You wake up in the dark (and cold at this time of year), so heaters are going. When it gets warm, we'll use air conditioners longer, thus using more energy.

People may want to justify DST as saving energy because they like that extra hour of daylight. Me, I'm a night person and love it. I never adjust to the DST while losing an hour of sleep. It's a joy when we go back to EST.

No this is not a joke … this is just your American Congress doing what it can to help out a rich, socialist dictator. The House passed legislation last week that repeals subsidies for five major oil and gas companies in order to offset $18.1 billion in renewable-energy tax breaks. However, Citgo Petroleum Corp. would continue to receive the 6% deduction for domestic manufacturing. Citgo is owned by a subsidiary of Hugo Chavez’s Petróleos de Venezuela. Apparently since Citgo does not drill for oil and gas domestically or abroad, it fails to fall under the bill’s definition of companies that will be losing the tax break.

Does that make any sense at all? The five companies that this bill targeted -- Chevron, BP, ExxonMobil, Shell and ConocoPhillips — all produce and refine and sell in the United States. And because they are domestic, they are going to lose this tax deduction while Hugo Chavez gets to hang on to his. We are giving him money out of our tax payer dollars while limiting our own resources domestically.

Nancy Pelosi is pushing a proposal through the congress to seize an additional $18 billion dollars in oil company revenues for the government. One of the things this sickening leftist wants to spend that money on is "alternative energy sources."

Let me just take a moment out of your busy day here to tell you how this "government spending oil company money on alternative energy sources" thing works.

Instead of the oil companies – who actually have some expertise in these matters – spending their profits on research and development of alternative energy, the money will be placed into the hands of politicians. This money will then be handed out on the basis of political considerations. Congressman X is in trouble next year, so let's spend some money in his district on some alternative energy plan. Congressman Y cooperated with Congressman Z on some legislation last year, so let's reward Congressman Y with a nice little earmark for some energy company in his district.

In short .. the money will be passed out based on political considerations rather than being spent by those businesses most able to accomplish the desired goals.

Now some of you may not have seen this information in a while, if not at all. But here's what happened in Australia just one year after gun owners were forced to surrender their means of protection. By the way, "disarming" Australia cost the taxpayers $500 million.

Seems there are women (probably of the over-weight variety) complaining about the new Starbuck's Skinny Latte being offensive. Excuse me, the word "skinny" obviously doesn't apply to them, so they're taking offense to it. It's a great marketing idea to those that are 1) already health-concious and want to remain that way, and 2) to the fat asses that need to lose some pounds. I love the idea and will start drinking them in a week when I start my new healthy-eating plan. The more skinny lattes sold, the more Starbuck's will keep them on the market.

It's apparent the the lattes themselves are not the issue, it's the word "skinny" that some find offensive, and would label it as such in any place. Hey, if the pump fits, too bad. Get off your dead ass and do something about it, but don't try to ruin it for the rest of us that want to enjoy something tasteful and healthy at the same time. Okay, I have been known to have a foul mouth. I try to be aware of my audience and to whom I'm speaking when I use certain language.

Unfortunately, the 60-something female crowd in Hollywood are behaving like adolescents with their mouths. I'm sure everyone has heard about Jihad Jane's (a.k.a. Hanoi Jane) use of the "C" word on the Today Show. I don't know how everyone else feels about this word, but I find it the most disgusting of all, especially where women are concerned. I doubt Jane would have been thrilled if someone called her that word (even though her perpetual behavior warrants it). Then we have Meredith Viera chuckling at her. Seems women just won't call their "sistas" down about bad behavior. If a man had used that word, he would have been crucified right there on televison. Why wasn't Jane? The double-standard at work. BTW, here is the woman that is on a campaign to educate girls on how not to get pregnant. This is her way of trying to win over those of us that know what she truly is. Just doesn't work that way. Wonder how these un-wed, pregnant girls like her deragatory use of words to describe their female body parts.

This wasn't cable folks, but network television where everyone is exposed, especially kids. It's hard enough in this time to raise them with some sense of morality, but then you have this thrown in your face.

Jihad isn't alone. About a month ago, Diane Keaton threw out the "f-bomb" to Diane Sawyer on GMA, of which Diane appeard shocked, but laughed it off instead of addressing it right there on the show. These idiots need to be publicly embarrassed for going on network television and saying anything they want. Do they think because they're past menopause they have a right to behave as juveniles. Not a good example for young women to follow.

Sally Field showed her ass at the Oscars last year and appears to have set a trend of using offensive, foul language in a public forum. Some people may think taking the Lord's name in vain is quite alright. I cringe when I hear it, especially announced to the world as if it is a commonality. To hell with everyone else, as long as they get to be "cute". Cute is for younger women. Time for women to learn to age gracefully and set an example for those bing-bong actresses that can't stay out of jail.

Corn-based ethanol production is sure to go down as one of the greatest mistakes ever in U.S. energy policy, yet it is so heavily embedded in election-year politics it just won't go away.
The government's recent move to boost ethanol production -- embedded in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 -- panders to Midwestern and Southern farm-state electorates that are influential in presidential races, yet will end up costing the nation billions more than it purports to save.

I wrote about this scam back in October in a column titled, "Shuck the ethanol and let solar shine," but apparently for some reason my expression of outrage was not enough to prevent Congress from passing a law in late December that will cost taxpayers as much as $550 billion over the next four years.Now scientists have finally completed research that shows ethanol is not only bad business but also bad for the environment. According to news reports, the latest issue of Science magazine highlights studies showing that biofuels produce more greenhouse gas emissions than fossil fuels when all of their production inputs are accounted for.

Two studies shows that replacing fossil fuels with corn-based ethanol would double greenhouse gas emissions over the next three decades. The studies show that switchgrass, an alternative to ethanol that's more weed than plant, would boost emissions by 50%.How? It's because, as I described in my piece, so much energy is required to fertilize, harvest and refine the fuels. It's also because the growing of fuel plants replaces the growing of vegetation that actually consumes harmful greenhouse gases.

The research at Princeton and the Nature Conservancy found that an intensified push to grow fuel crops would also rob the world of biodiversity as it would require the clearing of vast tracts of pristine rainforest in South America and Africa. In total, the researchers said they discovered it would take as much as 300 years to pay off the carbon debt caused by biofuels' initial cultivation.Luckily, some public officials are waking up to the danger of ethanol.

The United Nations recently tasked a panel to evaluate biofuels sustainability, and there are rumblings that the next session of Congress will look at the possibility of already reforming the recently passed bill. Investors meanwhile should continue to avoid the ethanol-based stocks, including popular names like Pacific Ethanol and recent initial public offering BioFuel Energy.

Busy with work, among other things. Thought I would share some recent information.

First, I see where Roswell and Sandy Springs are now allowing people to carry guns in public parks. The only problem is, they can't use them. So what's the point? If you get attacked (of if there is a threat of being attacked), you can't defend yourself. I believe it has to do with complying with a former law and will probably be rescinded soon. I'm aware that public parks are havens for robberies, assaults, etc. It's good that municipalities are realizing this and allowing citizens to protect themselves. After all, law enforcement is not there to protect you but to enforce the law.

I read an interesting article this morning on places to meet people. I know several single people that are always looking for new places to meet some quality individuals, other than bars and online dating services. These are the places they recommended:

Book stores
Cooking lessons
Church
Charity events (I like volunteering)
Playing Poker (ladies, you'll meet a lot of men this way)
Shooting ranges (lots of guys, and they like women that target practice)
Triathalons (or any outdoor activity groups)

I would also include:
Dance lessons
Campaigning for political figures
Dog obedience classes

There are a host of clubs in the Atlanta area (and I'm sure in other cities) for outdoor activities and fundraising events of all sorts, especially for the arts. Attending fundraisers is fun, but actually working one is even better. You're more exposed to everyone that comes in, thus you meet more people.

Any type of hobby you enjoy is always a good way to meet people you have something in common with

Yesterday on the show, I got really hot and bothered about this article in the New York Times. Yeah .. darned near lost my customary cool there for a moment.
The article? Well, Hillary Clinton is saying that when she is president, the federal government will take a more active role in the economy. She wants government to get involved because she believes this is the only way to curb the "excesses of the market."
Excesses, huh? What excesses would she be talking about. No problem .. she's all to willing to share that with us. Excess number one would be executive-pay packages. She says that these executive pay packages are offensive and wrong.
Wrong? What's the criteria that this woman-who-wants-to-be-president uses to say that these executive pay packages are wrong? In the case of privately owned businesses the executive pay packages are determined by the owners of the business. In the case of a corporation the board of directors, elected by the shareholders, makes that determination. Then here comes Hillary to say that these pay packages are wrong? Would someone please tell me what role our government should have in determining just how much a private business should be able to pay its executives? Here's a little wager for you. If Hillary (God help us) manages to convince enough single women in this country to vote for her that she actually becomes president; and if she then starts working on some sort of government intervention scheme to make sure executives don't make what she determines to be a "wrong" salary, she will totally ignore the sums raked in by Hollywood stars and pro athletes.

Remember .. to leftist anti-capitalists like Hillary Rodham acquiring wealth is just a matter of luck. There are the "fortunate" and the "less fortunate." She doesn't recognize any true value an executive might have to his or her company or the stockholders. She only sees someone who was lucky to find such a nice job and who needs to be brought down a peg or two.
Hillary's second market "excess?" She also feels that the tax code has become "so far out of whack" in favoring the evil rich. These excesses are holding down middle-class living standards, according to Hillary. In other words, if a high-achiever makes more money, that implicitly means that some poor person out there is making less money. That is the economic mind of a liberal. Liberals see one economic pie that doesn't expand. If someone takes a larger slice, than that means that someone else has to take a smaller one. Baking a bigger pie so everyone can have more? Out of the question.

Her first priority as president would be to change the tax code. She wants tax credits for college tuition, retirement savings, healthcare and alternative energy use – and these credits are only to go to lower and middle-income families. As for the evil rich, she would raise the marginal rate to 39.6%, which will bring in an extra $52 billion to help pay for her hand outs to poorer people. This, of course, is income redistribution. She complains that the middle class is stalled and inequality is growing. Guess what, the middle class is getting smaller because more and more people are moving to upper income brackets.

Oh ... and by the way. That 39.6% income tax bracket for the evil achievers? Well, if you quote that tax rate on the same basis that the FairTax detractors love to quote the 23% FairTax rate Hillary would be proposing a 65.6% income tax. But who's counting.

Even the New York Times points out that she is much more skeptical than Bill of free trade and free-market economy. She talks less about irresponsibility among individuals and blames everything on the irresponsibility in corporate America. That's because in the eyes of Hillary Clinton there is no problem that can't be fixed by government. If she thinks corporate America is greedy, then it is her job as president to use the government to fix that. This is the future of America, folks. Wake up. These aren't just sound bites played on the TV ... these socialist, anti-individualist policies are her deepest held beliefs. And sadly, the average voter – these single women, the less educated, the poor – are too ignorant (thanks to government schools) to understand.

Take a look at what "multiculturalism" has done for London and its Muslim population. Remember, you have no identity as an individual. Your entire identity is locked within your particular ethnic group. Welcome to multiculturalism.

To really be an effective race pimp with any longevity at all you have to continually stir the racial pot.

THE RIGHT TO VOTE
Lately we've been getting a lot of these "right to vote" emails. Well now it seems that even Europeans want the "right to vote" ... in American elections. An editorial in the Brussels Journal explains that American presidential elections are not "home affairs." Because the US elections impact the entire world, the editors of the Brussels Journal feel that they should have their say. Yup, you got it ... the Euro-weenies now seem to feel that they have some sort of a right to participate in U.S. presidential elections.

The editorial says, "Hence, the world should be given the right to vote. Because the current situation is a blatant case of taxation without representation, against which the Americans rebelled in 1776."

What? What in the world are they snorting at the editorial board meetings at the Brussels Journal?

American citizens don't even have a right to vote in presidential elections – and now these clowns want their votes to count? The trouble here is that Democrats might actually embrace the idea. After all, if there is a group of people who could be counted on to go along with the weakness personified by the MoveOn Democrats, it would be the Euro-wimps.

It's confirmed that the ACC is NOT a football school. How some of these teams get into bowl games amazes me. Our illustrious commissioner expanded our conference almost five years ago to include football programs that would bring us more notariety in the football arena, and it seems the move has failed, so far. I know bowl and championship games and the money they bring in were the reason for this, but I'm still waiting to see how they perform. I'm quite disappointed.

I read something very enlightening about a 10th grader from Pace Academy, here in Atlanta, being a "blues" guitarist. He performs in clubs that allow under-age kids play, specifically one in Decatur. It's good to know there are young, talented, people out there getting some recognition, vs. the Rap crap that is so often promoted in this city.

Seems 50% of new births at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill are now Hispanic. The article I read calls them undocumented immigrants, but as you've probably read the analogy, calling undocumented immigrants what they really are, illegal immigrants, is like calling a drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist. These births are already pushing the limits of the neo-natal center up there to over capacity. Of course, it's the taxpayers that are paying for this activity. One illegal has had two children and is already planning another. Seems Hispanics reproduce like blacks and rabbits, as long as the taxpayers continue to bitch and not do anything about it.

There's another term that needs to be addressed. A guy called in to a talk radio show the other day and explained this very well. The PC term, suicide bomber, puts a nice twist on these idiots. I'm making an attempt at keeping things short in this blog, as it seems there are several short attention spans out there. This one from Neal has to be posted. May be lengthy, but not boring, shouldn't take more than a few moments out of the day to view, and it is SO true. I especially like the definition of the term, "Nazi". Seems some have confused it of late, so it's included in the article.

Sorry, I'm not in the mood for all of this Happy New Year nonsense. This is getting to be about as phony as the 4th of July. (Freedom ... right. Like the people of this country are still in love with the idea of liberty.) This is 2008. This is an election year. We're choosing a new House of Representatives, about one-third of the Senate and a president. This is not the type of New Year you launch with the traditional expressions of optimism. We're in trouble. An election is coming in 11 months and millions of parasites, led by single females, are getting ready to accelerate the destruction of the concepts of individuality, private property rights, self-reliance, and this very country by putting a hideous, power-hungry, big-government socialist* into the White House.

I think I've made a bit of a mistake over the past few months. Trying to be a bit to nice to the people I think are destroying this country. I've been trying to cut them some slack .. be a little understanding. You know, the compassion thing. Well, something must have clicked during the last two weeks off. No more free passes. Identify the leeches. Call them out. They're destroying the greatest system of governance this world has ever known, and they should not be allowed to go unchallenged.

If you squandered every opportunity for an education to end up an unemployable semi-literate loser, that's your problem, not mine. If you've destroyed your health with cigarettes and fast food ... then by what right do you demand that people who lived their lives more responsibly than you cover the cost of your medical care. You cry about your "right" to health care. You dare to claim a right to the services of another human being to correct problems you created for yourself? Further, if it is more important for you to spend your money on a cell phone, flat-screen televisions, the best new car, meals at expensive restaurants and fancy vacations than it is to spend your money on a health insurance policy .. then you should be on your own. Don't beg the government to steal from someone else so that you don't have to change your lifestyle.
And a word for you welfare brood mares out there. That's right .. welfare brood mares .. it's time for someone to call you out for what you are. Perhaps one of the greatest social wrongs a person can commit in this country is to have a child that you cannot afford to care for. Do you really think that it's perfectly OK for you to get yourself knocked up, download your baby, and then tell the taxpayers "Hey, look what I did! Now you folks cough up the money I need to take care of this child." Yeah .. that's what America is all about .. and you're going to be right there in November to vote for Hillary, aren't you. In fact all of you are: the uneducated and unmotivated, the "I'm not responsible for my own health care" crowd, and the single moms. All of you want someone else to step in and take care of you after you've screwed up your own lives, and who better than Hillary, a woman more than ready to use the police power of government to reward you for your votes.

You do know, don't you, that you have absolutely no constitutional right to cast a vote in this presidential election. No .. you probably don't know that. That would mean you are educated, but you're not. You were educated by the government ... and the government sure isn't going to disclose that inconvenient little fact to you. Somehow the media in this country has bought the politician's about this "right to vote." It's not there. Doesn't exist. And to save this country we need to figure out a way to get tens of millions the parasite class off the voter roles. Welfare? No vote. Illiterate? Stay home on election day. Begging for the government to be your lifetime nanny? Let the doers, the achievers cast the votes. Just stay away.

Historians have said that this country will start to slide when the people learn that they can vote largess for themselves out of the public treasury. Well, you've learned, and now you're heading to the polls later this year to vote for government as an instrument of plunder .. plunder for you .. plunder to pay you for your votes. It's all about you, your wants and needs. Look for the politician who promises to transfer the most wealth from the achievers to you ... and that's the politician who gets your vote. You don't care even a little bit about the type of America you'll leave generations to come ... it's all about you, right now, right here.

A new Arizona state law went into effect yesterday to crack down on businesses hiring illegal immigrants. First time violators who knowingly hire illegals will get a 10-day suspension of their business license. A second offense means that businesses lose their license. The law also requires employers to use an online federal database, called "E-Verify," that allows businesses to check employment eligibility of new hires in border states .
You might be interested in knowing that in anticipation of this new law going into effect, many illegal aliens have been self-deporting. That is as it should be.

Good article on how Starbucks actually helps other coffee shops increase their profits on MSN.com. Someone I know that wants to get into the coffee shop business has hated Starbucks for their aggressive ways, along with all other capitalistic ideas. I've repeatedly told her that I know there is a way for others to compete with Starbucks. I suppose work and creativity are at a loss on this idea.

Nevertheless, this article posts very interesting stats:

57% of coffee houses are mom & pops.
From 2000-2005, there was 40% growth in mom & pops.
There is only a 10% failure rate in start-ups.
In 2000, when Omaha opened six new Starbucks, other coffee shops' profits rose 25%.

Here's what has happened. Starbucks is notorious for driving out competition, especially by offering to buy out leases of those coffee shops that are behind and having problems making it. For those that are doing alright and are in somewhat good shape that decide to ride the tide, their profits rise considerably when a Starbucks opens up close to them. Reason being, Starbucks has taken on the feat of opening two of their own stores around the corner from each other because of traffic overflow. If they can do that, why can't someone make money off Starbucks while they open in close proximity?

The key is not trying to duplicate Starbucks, but offer a quality coffee that is a little less expensive. If Starbucks (they strategically place their shops close to highly traveled areas) can compete with themselves, then it's great for others to do the same.

So much for the defeatest attitude. It's a new year, let's think positively!

Another year has come and gone, and we're still saddled with the same problems. Let's hope a new leader will stand strong against illegal immigration and radical Islam. If we don't take care of those two issues, we won't have to worry about anything else.

Protestors in Atlanta. The local charity hospital is being turned over to a private non-profit organization to run. The deadbeats and freeloaders are protesting the move citing their fears of a "loss of services." So .. what services are they going to lose? Will they still be treated -- for free -- if they show up with a medical emergency? Of course they will. Are they going to be able to continue using Grady Hospital as the center of their social life? Possibly not. Let me tell you how bad things are with this hospital. Let's say you live about four or five miles from downtown and you want to go do a little shopping. You'll pay for a cab back home, but a free ride to town would be nice. So .. you call Grady and say the magic words: "I'm having trouble breathing." Here comes the Grady ambulance .. your free ride downtown. You lose yourself in the chaos of the emergency room -- where most of the patients have no medical emergency at all -- and go do your shopping. Nice scam. Your taxpayer's dollars at worst. Trust me ... Grady will continue to operate as a so-called "safety net" hospital where people go with the slightest scratch or sniffle .. people who will call their friends on their cell phones to bitch about having to pay a few bucks for treatment or a prescription.

Just going through local news, and a couple of things come to mind.

Seems the Mayor's (Atlanta) daughters are involved in the personal trainer being beaten to a pulp at a black nightclub (I've been there a couple of times). One of these darling daughters has recently been convicted of an illegal financial transaction with her husband. Back in the Fall, someone was shot outside of this particular club. A former friend of mine criticized me for not wanting to go there several months ago. I told her then, and I'd tell her now, it's not a safe place for blacks, not to mention whites, especially when you're the only white people there. I don't live to prove a point to anyone, especially with the possibility of endangering my life.

I see where Cindy Sheehan and company are attempting to cause disruption at the Rose Bowl parade this year. She's a has-been, and I hope spectators completely ignore her. She doesn't care if she infringes upon others' entertainment, and she deserves no further attention.

Bush has pissed me off by signing for the additional funding of the childrens' healthcare bill. Sorry, but if people can't afford to have children, then why should I be taxed to pay for them? People have to learn that having children is NOT a God-given right, but definitely a personal responsibility.

Now, off to watch the Pats/Giants game!

Let's start with colleges, beginning with Florida State:

Seems there are several players that may not be playing in their bowl game due to academics. Why is this not surprising? I hated the day FSU joined the ACC. They've been the lowest on the academic pole in the conference and frankly, an embarrassment to the ACC. Usually, Bobby is pulling them out of jail (hence the nickname, Criminoles) to play on any given day. I guess he hasn't found a way to re-calculate grades yet. With them losing, it will hurt our revenue for their bowl game.

Three different Duke lacrosse players have filed suits against Duke and the City of Durham. Good for them. Duke administration should be held accountable for putting the 47 members of the team (the 48th is black and didn't get the treatment the others did) through what they endured, along with not allowing the whole team to play throughout the year. They were also defamed by members of the "Gang of 88" in their classes. This isn't over folks, and shouldn't be.

Seems Arthur Blank experienced another shocker today, with the Parcells deal falling through. I'm beginning to think that Blank may be the one causing his own problems. I wondered why Parcells would consider taking any position with a team where the owner controls the sidelines, just as Jerry Jones does. I knew Parcells wouldn't put up with crap when he went to Dallas, and he didn't. Word out now is that Blank controlled Mora too much on the sidelines, and of course, we're aware of him having his head up Vick's ass during his tenure here. I really hope he learns the lesson Ted Turner learned about his involvement with the Braves. Once he allowed the people he hired to do their jobs, they starting winning.

MEDITATION ROOM
In Minnesota, a community college's "meditation room" has been converted into a full scale Muslim prayer room ... all at the taxpayers expense. Yes, you guessed it, it's a government school.

The room used to be the only usable racquetball court until the administrators decided it would be better used as a meditation room. This "meditation room" is said to be open to all religions ... from the descriptions that is clearly not the case.

The room is split into sex-segregated sections. The smaller section for women has literature like "Hijaab and Modesty," which instructs women on proper Islamic behavior – cover you face, stay at home, do not speak. There is also literature saying that the Jews and the Christians are the enemies of Allah.

A poster in the room advertises a local lecture for "marriage from an Islamic perspective." The other flyers were for students to join the Normandale Islamic Forum or participate in Ramadan celebrations. There is a sign on the room's entrance asking for all students to remove their shoes ... because Muslim customs require it.

But it seems like there are a few things missing from this non-denominational catch-all "meditation room." How about a Bible. Or a crucifix. Or a Torah. Nope. Nothing but a bunch of Islamic propaganda.

Mike Vick has been sentenced on Federal charges, and state charges in VA are on the horizon. For those that believe he'll only serve 23 months have not considered the depth of charges against him. Yes, he broke dog-fighting laws, but the RICO laws apply to interstate commerce of transferring animals for this activity. After he gets out for Federal crimes, look for him to serve for state crimes.

I read where the judge gave him this time instead of something shorter because he really didn't appear to show remorse. People like Vick can't show remorse because they are what they are, beasts within themselves. Blacks keep complaining that he was targeted because he's black. He clearly broke several laws and didn't do himself any favors by perpetually lying, and participating in such gruesome activities. Remember, beyond funding dog-fighting, he and his ilk brutally murdered animals that had no chance. That's why when blacks complain that he wasn't given a fair chance, think about those poor animals that never had a chance. He's beneath them because he's a human being behaving in an animalistic manner, period.

That's why Mike's in jail folks! No black or white thing here. I just wish the blacks would wake up and stop using being black as an excuse for poor judgement and horrific behavior.

OFFENDING MUSLIMS
A Turkish lawyer filed a complaint with the Union of European Football Associations after an opposing team wore a shirt in a recent match with a symbol that is offensive to Muslims.
The shirts show a big red cross with a white background, which is apparently the symbol for the team's city of Milan. However the symbol is also an emblem of the order of the Templars ... we are talking all the way back to the middle ages, folks.

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE
Just when the U.S. is moving towards universal healthcare, countries that already have it are moving away from it. In this case it is Great Britain, which is trying to give more decision-making and power back to the people.
Elderly people will be given money to pay for their own medical care. Personal budgets will be given to millions of pensioners and young disabled people so that they can decide when kind of care they want and where they want to get it from ... what a concept!
Currently, government social workers decide the services the elderly need. The new system gives a monthly sum of money to the elderly person or the family in a back account. The Government decided this was the way to go after being convinced that the up-and-coming "baby boomer" generation would demand more control over the care they received.

He never has a bad column. Unfortunately, the reverse-intolerance (kind of like reverse-discrimination) isn't isolated to college campuses. It's rampant throughout the country.
